World Job Openings

How it Works

Look at the available jobs below and read the duties you would perform with each job. If one speaks to you, please apply! No one is really turned down unless they don't seem to want it or the positions are full. If you have a good job idea or something that you really want to do that isn't listed, you have two choices:

1. Set up that thing and do it anyway!

2. Contact the Warden via Ask-Warden in Discord. Chances are, you will be given start up materials and depending what you do, may get added to the Friday glory-coin (in game currency) payroll.

You may only have one Warden-paid job at a time and only change once per week.

Payments

When and Where

Payments for job actions are dispatched on Fridays by the Warden to your in game inmate PO box to which only you have the PIN for in the form of coins. Coins can be spent on resources, dinos, decor, or rarer weapons and skins at public and player markets.

Because we love you.

Rates Per Service

Every time you provide a service and it is logged, you receive a balance toward your Friday pay. In example, every passed Station as a Sky Rider (transporter) is worth 10 coins. So flying 10 people in a week from Station 1 to Station 4 is worth 400 coins. Some jobs have multiple duties (like disposing of an alpha invading a base as a Sky Rider is worth 150) with different rates. Just chasing the alpha away is worth 50.

How and Quality Assurance

Patrons of your service must go to the job-services text channel of Discord to post who, what, and how much. Examples:

I bought a drink at the Swinging Spino from Bob.

Jill flew me and two of my ankys from Station 1 to Station 4.

If your patron does not/can not/refuses to post, you may post on their behalf. "I served Bob a drink but he was too drunk to pay."

If you received a service, you are welcome to tip the worker if they did a good job. If you received a poor job (your drink was poisoned or your dinos were killed in transport) file a complaint with the jobs-services text chanel and a more detailed complaint privately with the Warden. Both real misfortunes and RP misfortunes count. "Jee, I just feel like poisoning people today."

Termination

The Warden hesitates to remove anyone from their jobs, but not performing a single service for 14 consecutive days will lay you off and open that slot for another inmate. You may return later.

Accidental or intentional destruction of inmates or their property/dinos (death, lost items, ect) during services can be grounds for termination case by case. (For example, if you were flying on a usual route between outposts and a rare spawn ate a dino, that's Ark life. If you were taking a private payment to go pick someone up at their base and take them to a cave, you're at your own risk.) Therefore don't be afraid to charge fees for unusual tasks or ask for notes. (Signed wavers.)

Cases of loss and death while guiding someone through a cave are to be expected. Your patrons shall sign wavers before entering caves or ships.

  • Innkeeper (2)
You're a social sort who's easy to talk to and manages the rental of upstairs rooms and serves drinks. (Both ark consumeables, nonexistant RP food, and if you own the tavern- placeable RP food for the customers.) Your job also includes cleaning up after the customers and restocking the beer barrels. Your rate is 10 coins per meal served and 5 coins per drink. If your customers drink an alcoholic beverage (a sign/info board is required in the tavern on this) they must pick one letter that they can no longer use in dialogue speech. Every drink makes it harder and harder to speak. Enjoy the show. You may construct the inn yourself in the budding of a new town with loaned resource gathering dinos or have a builder take on the task for you. Note that should you leave the job, you may rent out the property. If you leave the server the property will change hands as it is a town (public) object. Open a private message with the Warden to ask for this job.
  • Cave Guide (1)
You're a strong master of combat with access to arms others may not encounter without getting lucky from donated drops of the concered funding public back home. (Or you're spiritual and utterly bonkers, who knows.) You know the location of caves, the best way to get through them, and are excited to assist others in taming particular creatures from the cave or clearing it for its spoils. You may set your own rates customers pay you directly. (Or in exchange for specific drops you want.) A fee for assisting in locating a cave, for taming a creature (prices per creature should be fairly high), perhaps weapon rental to your customers, and rules about what you will or wont do based on the number of customers that arrive in the group. (Some areas are just not logical to do with two people, but that's up to you and how you want to approach it.) You're the professional 'how do I go about this' consultation for spelunking on the island. A fertilized water mount egg is included in your hiring, a few rare weapons, and extra fees are paid fridays. Open a private message with the Warden to ask for this job. Please bring tales of heroism if you have any.
  • Sky Riders [Cloud Backs] (2)
Sky Riders that specialize in Quetzals are known as a "Cloud Back". Masters of the air and combat, bold navigators who know the map better than breakfast. Your job is to manage quetzals with platforms you construct, to attend to the moving of bigger and heavier cargo the island inmates request. Station to station is preferred, but you may have to go 'off the grid' (if you choose) to accomodate requests. Cloud Backs are proud to be handed some of the rarest eggs around to raise and improve upon, but often need to tame other mounts to cash in on other requests. Not allowed to tame Griffins for paid work/off payroll tips, only wyverns, dragons, and slow argents can accomodate combat needs. If a cloud back does not wish to fight, they should put their efforts toward breeding Sky Rider stock. Pteras are still required, and dino sales need to be made to grow the treasury to afford stud feeds and dino purchases of the future. The first Sky Rider to tame a dragon, should they choose the role, can become the Captain of the Sky Riders and take an Admin role. Open a private message with the Warden to ask for this job. Please bring screenshots of past platform saddles you're proud of, if you have any. If you don't, still apply.
  • Sky Riders [Lion Claws] (2)
Sky Riders that specialize in Griffins are known as a "Lion Claw". The adventure loving elite arbourne arsonal of public defense and transportation. You work in a provided aviary/bunk house with a hatchery at the peak of the world, responsible for higher risk operations such as answering global distress calls (redirecting alphas or large base shaking dinos), transporting people from station to station, taking private transporation requests for a fee, and the occasional fast moving of precious small cargo. (Small dinos, fertilized eggs.) You can charge for taking people on egg hunts, a fee of your choice for the hunt, and an extra fee if a wild wyvern/dragon egg is found. Like the other Sky Riders, you must take it upon yourself to try breeding to improve all flighted stock (especially griffins) in the public aviary and to keep a fertilized egg available for new Lion Claws to pass their initiation. NOTE: You may change to a different flighted dino or rotate per task should you tame a better choice for your job duties. The first Sky Rider to tame a dragon, should they want the job, can become the Captain of the Sky Riders and take Admin duties. Lion Claws are not allowed to tame Quetzals for job use or be paid in any way for using Quetzals, other than breeding them to improve Sky Rider stock or sales for treasury. (Stud services or unique bird purchase is often required.) Open a private message with the Warden to ask for this job. Please bring heroic tales if you have any.
  • Builders (3)
Job Duties: Construct community buildings, job buildings for other professions, ships, hatcheries, stables, flyer stations, and temporary housing near spawn zones. You can pick from a list and discuss on the builder's exclusive chanel. (Grants temporary admin abilities.) Sometimes you may get the opposite, to demolish old abandoned areas. Requirements: You have built or have a strong desire to build creative building designs. (Especially medieval.) You can mentally map out how a dino will enter or exit a building, and how to make it a aesthetically pleasing yet functional. You sometimes watch Youtube channels or study screenshots to get new ideas, and can readily adapt to new tasks. (Quetz hanger? No problem. Fantasy garden along a path? Gotcha. Tavern? Pie.) Grants: All building materials including mods will be available for you to spawn. This will require joining the Warden's tribe temporarily. (You will lose none of your stuff even if playing solo.) A server backup is made, and you receive Admin abilities for the purpose of construction. Notes: No one is going to ask you to construct an ultra massive arena or gigantic community center. Every structure request is within reason and manageable. Payment: Payments can be rather small to massive depending on the structure. This is one of the most difficult and sometimes time consuming jobs. (But fun to RP. If you break a bone, the Warden has to take care of you.) Not only will you be more than rembursed with coins, you will also receive bonuses such as unavailable skins, unavailable decor items, and fertilized eggs of rare dinos. This job may promote to: Forman (Permanent Admin, responsible for hiring, firing, paying, and organizing future builders- along with removing very abandoned buildings.) Note: Non Warden Admins may have two characters or switch identities for the sake of RP. (You can rename yourself back and forth using Admin commands.) Open a private message with the Warden to ask for this job. Please bring screenshots of past builds you're proud of, if you have any. If you don't, still apply.
