Your goal shouldn't be to 'make other people like you' or 'to be the best villain.' The truth is some charter personality types clash naturally or bond naturally, even if they are both evil and generally dislike others.
FORMAT OF POSTING RP IN CHAT
Quotations for anything spoken. No quotations for actions.
Warden made example: "What ye doin' behind the pub boy?" She cracked her knuckles subtly in a pocket, eyes a dark drawn line toward Kyro.

GOOD IDEAS
RP in local chat. If you RP in tribe and someone is nearby, they can't join you. Tribe for adult RPs. Global chat is attached to your arm implant and should be treated like a global radio rather than an OOC chat. Use Discord for questions, ads, goofing around. You CAN use global for announcements (births of dinos, for example) and distress signals. (Alpha in your base!) Let people know what is going on, or updates on conditions. (It's so cold tonight.. I'm out of blankets.) That helps initiate RPs or keep immersion.
Note: You don't REALLY have to bring blankets items when you show up, it's RP for a reason.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE WORSE THAN YOU
TIP ONE: For the love of all that is holy, don't wear a storm trooper mask and try to RP unless you're really, REALLY good at making it believable. (And nothing to do with Starwars.) JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD.
ROLEPLAY TIPS
Limitation is the source of creativity. (And hiding your sources, if you ask Einstein.) Draw a tree vs. draw a tree using only triangles. Therefore, read "Roles and Simple Story" to get your limitation, namely that your character was convicted of a high level crime. If you can't think of one, it's fine. Your character might have amnesia still, and will remember later. Jumping into RP and figuring it out works too. The story should start sparking ideas about who your character is, why they are here, and what they might be good at doing. Do they lie? Honest as a saint?
People will not make fun of your ability if you're trying and into it. RP is still enjoyable regardless.
One time an adult wrote to me:
The ground is dirt colored.
Just have fun, make an attempt, and if you're shy try playing a shy character so it works out, or flip it on its head and play the most brassy character you can envision.
